Day 31: Girly Afternoon

The Imp and I had an appointment to attend this afternoon, so we took the rest of it to just hang out, out of the house. Lunch and a bit of shopping, led by her and where she wanted to go, with encouragement of me telling her what we needed and where we could potentially get it.

Day 30: Naughty Boy

This is Loki laying claim to the stack of boxes in the living room to sleep in. Shame they contain my ex-stock books that are being sold on eBay. Please note the mocking look on his face.

Day 29: Drawings

According to The Imp, these drawings are all of Hello Kitty. I think I can just about see it? And at the top of the green one, The Artiste has signed her name.

Day 28: Twilight Over the River Witham

After spending the day inside, sorting paperwork and slowly tidying, I decided that the Imp and I needed to go out for a bit of fresh air. This was taken on the path leading to Boultham Park, on the bridge overlooking the river.

Day 27: The View from Biology

I walked into Biology, and reminded just how gorgeous of a day it was outside. This is the view from the fourth floor of the Abbey Building at Lincoln College, overlooking the main of the campus onto Monk's Road.

Day 26: Crochet Scarf

After spending December making scarves for gifts, then realising that I hadn't made one for myself, I decided to splurge a little and treat myself to some posh wool. I couldn't find any that I liked at my normal shop, so wandered up to a little specialist shop about a month ago, and realised that I should have gone in there ages ago. I'm like a complete kid in a sweet shop who can't decide where to start! After looking at the entire selection, I decided on some lovely lustre extra fine merino dk, but couldn't decide on the colour, so went with most of them. I finally completed my gorgeous feeling scarf today, after finishing the crochet work early this morning, and getting more colours to finish the fringe.

Day 25: King Loki

As it's been a bit chilly for my taste in the evenings, I've been putting the fire on, and both of the cats take full advantage. It's a shame though that I have yet to catch a photo of them together in their favoured positions. They don't seem to do assume those spots until after I've taken a photo. But here's Loki, having a bit of a survey of his domain before laying back down, and eventually sprawling on his back.

Day 24: Braids

One of the big, regular things in our life is the Imp's hair. At four years old, it goes down to her bum and is absolutely gorgeous. She has two favourite ways of wearing it...either in two low ponytails, or two braids, with her favourite being two braids. I'm still a bit slow, but because I braid it either every day or every other day, you gradually pick some speed up. This was taken before bed tonight, and she prefers if I braid it then, because we won't have to do anything to it when she gets up in the morning for nursery.

Day 23: Game Night

Well, it's D & D Eberron for us tonight. I have four friends coming around for our regular game, so I was thinking at how pretty my dice collection is.

Day 22: Life Is a Highway

Yes, the Imp is a girl and has lots of cars.  I found her lining them up on top of her tea set today, and asked her if she'd be interested in lining them up for a photo. She'll do anything to help with a photo :)  I love how she plays with each and every one of them, no matter the age and condition.  They range from about 1963 right up to last year, when she got her first packs that she is the first owner.

Day 21: Star Light

This was a candle holder that was bought for me last weekend, and I absolutely adore it. I couldn't help but to share it.

Day 20: Wrong Cat Food

I order our cat food online because it's the only way to get the food that suits the two moggies best. I always order the same food, same flavour, same website.  Enough to last us for two and a half months. Shame that I didn't pay close enough of attention when I ordered the other night, because I accidentally ordered the Light version instead of the Chicken. Oops...Loki is normally extremely picky about food, especially with the flavours, but from this photo, I don't think that it will be an issue. Those are their bowls in the background, as The Imp was getting ready to feed them. That is our twenty litre storage tub that he has his head in.

Day 19: Find the Child

A bit of a late post for me, and I'll sort out out the photo quality in the morning, but this is the Imp and her collection of cuddlies that all must join her for bed.

Day 18: Dance Like Nobody's Watching...

I spend a lot of time back and forth on the buses on the days that I'm in college, and a lot of time with my headphones on. I was completely off in my own little world when I glanced over while waiting in the queue for the bus, and caught myself dancing along to the Lady Gaga song that was playing. I rather liked the layered images in the window, so had to try to take a photo of it.

Day 17: A Divine Dinner

A bit of a late post for me, but the highlight of my day was my beef roast dinner. I had a good beef joint in the freezer from the Christmas meat hamper, and I've been really fancying some nice beef. After consulting a bit of Jamie Oliver for timings, this is probably the first one that I've done, and probably the best one that I've ever done...perfectly cooked to my liking, and totally melting in my mouth. Served with garlic and rosemary carrots, potatoes and onions and homemade gf gravy....nom nom. Shame the Imp ate the meat and potatoes, but is still avoiding carrots like the plague....

Day 16: Maybe Not So Much An Angel...

Not the most focused of shots, but I couldn't pass up a photo of my two princesses, and that huge grin on the Birthday Girl's face. She's four years old today, and absolutely gorgeous. Her mischievous streak kicked in when Florence walked past, and she just couldn't help but give her a big cuddle. Florence took advantage of the situation, because it put her at a new angle to bat at the ribbon that's tied to a mylar balloon that Sophie got from her party yesterday.

Day 15: Party the Day Before the Birthday

Well, tomorrow my gorgeous girly will be 4 year old, and we decided that today would be the perfect day for a party at the local soft play centre with her friends. She's had a fantastic time, and I'm surprised that she hasn't crashed yet.

Day 14: Saturday With Grumpy

Approximately every fortnight or so, The Imp's Grumpy (granddad) comes down to spend the day shopping with us. This was one of our stops for a drink, and he was showing her how to put the sugar into his coffee.

Day 13: Panic Averted

It looks rather simple, but this occasionally becomes a source of a bit of panic for me.  This morning, I had a report due in Biology that I had finished at 2am this morning. I was very specific about putting it into my pencil case as soon as I saved the document and putting the case into my rucksack.  That didn't stop me from having that stray thought of panic as the bus was arriving to the stop, and again when I sat at the computer in the library, waiting for it to fire up so I could print everything out.  Luckily, it wasn't just in my head that I had put it away, ready.

Day 12: The Results That I Have Been Dreading...

I made the decision at the beginning of October that I wanted to take the proper Higher Tier GCSE exam, and started the blended learning class on top of my Access course at the college. I have had to do a lot of independent study on it, but my first exam on Algebra and Numbers was in the middle of November. I wasn't confident with how I did after finishing it, but have had to have baited breath until the results were released today. I was fully willing to do the resit in March if I didn't get a minimum of a B. After nervously heading over to Student Services three times since yesterday, I collected the envelop during a class break this morning. I'm absolutely over the moon, and ready to gear up and focus only on the Statistics and Probability in March, and Geometry in May. If I continue to do well, this will turn out to be my very first official English education certificate.

Day 11: One of My Hiding Places

My inspiration today was the outside of the building at Lincoln College where I spend three days a week in, and the morning light on the features first thing in the morning. The start of my academic week, today, has turned in to a bit of hard work, as I have been completely disorganised and forgotten my main notebook and my maths graph paper notebook. Sigh. Here's to tomorrow starting off better...

Day 10: How Today Will be Spent...

This afternoon will be spent writing my Biology report that is due in on Friday. 1500 words, and I'm totally uninspired. But, slog on I must, and it will probably be close to finished by tonight.

Day 9: Green Eyes Peeking

The lovely Florence decided to pose today, and one of the things that I want to work on is photos of the cats with out the eye-glare. Obviously easy in the daylight.

Day 8: Favourite Programme

On the weekends, when we don't have to get up to an alarm, The Imp wakes me up just to put Disney on for her, then snuggles under the covers with me to watch it. But the moment that "Art Attack" comes on, she jumps to the end of the bed and there is no disturbing her watching. Anything else, and she'll chatter and do other things, but she's absolutely made on her artwork.

Day 7: Well, Hello, Dolly!

I recorded one of my favourite musicals yesterday, and The Imp and I have spent a lovely afternoon just snuggling on the sofa and watching it and singing along to all of the songs. It's rather scary that I know the majority of lyrics. You can't beat a bit of Barbara Streisand and Walter Matthau.

Day 6: Morning Drama

Five minutes into waiting at the bus stop, and The Imp realised that she had forgotten her hat. We didn't have time to go back and get it, so she had to wobble about it.

Day 3: Am I a Mum or a Granny?!?

The contents of my handbag caught my attention on the way to an appointment today. Seriously? The crayons, the Kindle. Ok, Mummy. Wait, the big purse and the crochet. Maybe Granny? I'm sure we'll all figure it out :P

Day 2: Midnight Ritual

For this photo, I was inspired by my need for a solitary ritual and card reading.

For those with interest in some of this, the top deck is the Adrian Tarot by Adrian Koeli, and the bottom deck is The Goddess Oracle by Amy Sophia Marashinsky. The short green goblet is from The Green Man Pottery. The rest has either been gifted to me, or I can't remember where it came from.

Day 1: An Evening Splash

Well, I'm finally taking the leap and starting a Project 365. What a better day to start than on New Year's Day, with The Imp.

This photo was taken on our way home from the shop, and The Imp gleefully jumping in every puddle down the road. I was quite tempted to join her.
